I Met Myself Inside My Reflection

I was under an influence

looking into the glass reflector

when I saw myself

I leaned in

and we were almost

one

My fingers spread across

my pores

trying to discover

uncover

The classified secret

to my growth

and how I got here

Suddenly

I saw all my stages

My laugh lines smiled

at the

inside joke

It’s funny,

in reflection you must

remain objective

to the subject in

front of you

who happens to be yourself

All in order

to grow

But we forget about

our younger selves

for the sake

of growing

I met myself

inside my reflection

I hadn’t seen her

in a long time

and I apologized
