The Garden

Location

You are my sweetest garden of effervescent lilies

And the winter’s tender whistle of song in my ear

The hour when a rainbow first awakens

And a sunset’s dewy tears turn to skyfall

As a songbird’s cries echo off the mountains

I hear a calling

On the breeze

From the winner of sunshine’s endearing affection

You shine brighter than any unfaltering star

When the weather changes in the garden

And the breath of life is held by all

A pause overtakes my company

Nature hides itself away

And you are gone

Yet I cannot keep from loving

In the silences between my breathing

When my heart stutters

I hope,

I hope

And my garden is hidden from me
