The flesh in general

 Psalm 78:38-39 New English Translation

38 Yet he is compassionate. He forgives sin and does not destroy.

He often holds back his anger, and does not stir up his fury.

39 He remembered that they were made of flesh,

and were like a wind that blows past and does not return.

The Flesh

A regenerated life as such does not alter the weakness of the flesh

I am crucified with Christ, I am, but my flesh can’t pass the test

The Holy Spirit dwells in me, but that does not remove the weakness

I believe, but I often trip, while serving, I always seem second best

My flesh rules the old nature and in such perseveres never to give up

The flesh acts through my worldly mind and is influenced by death

The flesh in an emotional state wants to control my inner-being

The flesh can be my unwillingness to prevent me from doing my best
