Fall

The leaves are changing color,

My dear.

I can’t believe it’s been a year.

Your silence could never have been more clear.

The trees bending and twisting,

Under the fall air.

The branches extending,

Giving me encouragement unending.

I promised I’d climb a tree one day,

To see the heights.

Heights so beautiful,

I would have no words to say.

Eventually, I’ll reach the top.

All the way,

Where the clouds don’t stop.

My hands reach for the sun’s rays.

Beaming through my fingertips,

I  was in disarray.

Blankets of orange engulf me like flames.

My heart has never been so tame.

In a moment of bliss,

I give you one final kiss.

Look at me love,

I’m on top of it all!

I just hope you’d catch me,

If I fall.
