Like a dream

Ecclesiastes 5:7

Just as there is futility in many dreams,
so also in many words. Therefore, fear God!

You are like a dream come true ... you live my expectation

But only in the way I notice in my state of emptiness

Never much had second thought about your frustration

Being misunderstood and out of focus with my loneliness

Now here in early morn looking at myself

Understanding the waste of misplaced priorities

Not heeding the warning signs placed on a dusty shelf

Just blinded in my haste to reach conformity

What makes a father and a dad? What depth does it require?

After all is said and done is it action or just words?

Does it take both harmony and love’s unconditional desire?

So missing it makes a sad circumstance one can ill afford?
