In the desert

Ecclesiastes 3:17        New English Translation

17 I thought to myself, “God will judge both the righteous and the wicked;

for there is an appropriate time for every activity,

and there is a time of judgment for every deed.”

Psalm 106:16-17        New English Translation

16 In the camp they resented Moses,

and Aaron, the Lord’s holy priest.

17 The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan;

it engulfed the group led by Abiram.

The choice to stay in the desert and serve the Lord their own way

That’s what Dathan and Abiram did it before the earth swallowed them up

As from the top to the bottom there are just a few whose intentions can’t be swayed

As we appear similar, within the congregations, when we offer an empty cup

From the path that Jesus trotted as He still leads us day and night

A cloud by day and a fire by night and all we need is to move on

Standing still is a sign for sure that we are sidetracked by pride

Unless where you’re standing, you need rest to pray in a worship song

God raised us from a spiritual deathbed, for at the “Fall” is where we died

We lost our fellowship with Him and were moved out of the “Garden”

But now in Christ, He restored that possible walk with Him again today

And fully live our lives in the freedom that is offered through His pardon
