College Education

Let the rain fall down,

And wash away these feelings

The doubt, the loathing, the constant questioning.

Life is too short, to let this society strip me,

Of the values and virtues I tend to cling to.

Life in the fast lane, Im not sure what I aim to accomplish.

I have been in college for three years now but have yet to find myself.

I guess I shouldn’t let these things define,

My goals, my worth, in this life, in this society.

But I cant help questioning what my future has in store for me.

So here is to life, and here is to the struggle,

to make ends meet and still get the education,

I will succeed in the end, they cant hold me back,

But the debt makes it difficult and I have a lot.

Banking my future on jobs not even created,

Forging and pushing for a future to be proud of,

One thing I know will always hold true,

My fight, my will, will surely see this through.

So here is to life, and here is to the struggle,

life is too short but Ill make the most of it.
