Christmas of '05

The door displays a white and purple wreath

  (which cost $5.99 at Marshall's).

Some people are visiting distant family,

and most of our Christian friends

   attend Christmas Eve Mass.

Snow covers the small grass patch outside the apartment;

ice clings to the stairs, which leads to the second level units

  (making it hard for a kid to hang from them).

Seen through a window

a mom and a daughter set out cookies for Mr. Claus

and will go to Denny's for Christmas breakfast tomorrow.

Sipping eggnog over late night TV,

snuggled in warm pajamas on the couch.

The sweet-scented holidays.
