Building Walls

Location

You can’t get her back now,
She’s moved on.
Her heart broke,
When she left,
But she knew what she
Had to do so she
Could live.
Her heart is still breaking,
For all the time lost,
Spent arguing and tearing her down.
She was forced to build up walls
Between her and them,
So it wouldn’t hurt anymore.
She’s grown stronger,
She will always regret what happened,
But she couldn’t have stopped it.
She couldn’t have made them aware.
They’re so blind to what’s happening right in front of them.
She knows it’s not her fault,
But she takes the blame anyway.
She will always love them,
But she made a choice to sever the connection
Between her and them
For her own health.
She wants to live,
So she stole her heart back
Because she wanted other people to have it.
She prays someone will love her
The way she deserves to be loved,
The way she has been longing to be loved
For so long.
She sacrificed her heart now,
So she could heal,
And have a stronger heart later.
She knows this is not her home,
It leaves her empty and heartbroken.
So she’s leaving,
To find love somewhere else.
