Blue

For every time I took your life

I watched the love escape your eyes

You painted tile, beneath my feet

So vividly

All behind the comfort of my mind

We fought until our hearts grew tired

I squeeze out a goodnight

But I never made a sound to my surprise

I was as blue as you

Just  bedsheets to dress me

A clueless victim to your ruse

Biting bullets left and right

They graze our faces still

We take refuge in the night

So we can’t see what kills

And life is sacrifice

So break out the dirty cutlery and dollar bills

And there’s no need for speaking

As we lay hear mocking peaceful sleeping

What a lovely way

To spend my days

With you
