Beautifully Flawed

Filters don't change us, they conceal that which we would lose.

I can hide my insecurities, but they are still there, aren't they?

Embrace the ugly and the radient,

for there is nothing so beautiful as a raw, unfiltered human,

the world gasping for breath as it tries to make sense

of the tousled hair and burning eyes

and the sweet smile and broken heart.

Light and dark swirling and twirling behind our windows,

fighting for power.

Beauty both perilous and tame, beckons "fall, the way down is horribly lovely."

Filters cannot hide the soul.
