Barrier

Location

The sun beats down but it's cold as ice
Winter winds break through my barrier
Waiting for spring, waiting for warmth
Waiting to bring down the wall I've built

Chills run down my spine, frozen deep
The hoping, wanting, knowing it won't last
This knowledge is what keeps me going
Rejoice the thawing I shall

This rejoice will be cut short
Too short a time will the warmth stay
Too quickly will the winter winds return
Return and bring about the barrier again
