Around Us, Without Us

I watch the kids, only three and five

And I wonder how they don't worry

They seems so at ease with the world

But I wonder, deep down do they see

What really happens around them,

Without them

I watch the kids, as they grow and grow

And I wish that they could go back

To the careless days from long ago

When they don't see the world as it is

As it moves and changes around them,

If only without them

I watched the kids, now grown and in charge

And I wish that we all could go back

Because then it was simple to ignore it all

And then it was easy to let things so

And the world would change around us,

And sometimes I wish without us
