Alabama/Dreamin'

Dear Joy/Peace//Hope/Unknown,

Houses in odd places

Trees that look like mountains

God at every corner

Ain’t no reason not to know Him

Sky so pretty

Grayish Blue

To blue-blue off the TV screen

Streets that got history to them

You feel the stories as you walk

My people here

Ones I never thought I had

Their smiles make me smile

It’s warm and genuine

Everyone looks settled here

Which is not always a bad thing

Peaceful looking

Knowing there ain’t anything else like that

It’s unique in it’s own way

Now I have to fly away

I’m high up

Real high up that

I’m above the clouds

My head in the clouds

I run into clouds

And suddenly/ for a few moments/

I’m engulfed by whiteness

Like nothing, like a blank sheet of white paper

Then I am thrown out and am

Just in arms reach from the

Blazing, smooth Orange and Pink sunset

Night falls and I see city lights

And I listen to a song talking

About Legacy, continuing

Black Excellency

I say to myself and pray

Looking down at the lit up land

Let me take over

And show everyone/ farther than my eyes are able to see/

Who I am

Sincerely,

D.
