“The Monster Under My Bed”

The monster underneath my bed

Sang me lullabies in the night

Which quickly turned to nightmares

And gave me quite a fright!

But as I got older

He didn’t seem so bad

He couldn’t be much worse

Than the other lads

So I allowed him in

And he crawled into my heart

I fell in love with him

And was blinded from the start

But from there he asked

To make a home inside my brain

So I furnished it up nice for him

And allowed him to stay

And now he dwells within

But after everything

I fear I should’ve

Left him

Under

My

Bed

Instead of letting him in.
