My family is planning to go to the beach.

It is not far, and well within reach.

We have lots of fun.

'Cause we play in the sun.

I use the raft when it was my turn.

I just hope that none of us burn.

I am a Senior.

And my life as an adult

has yet to begin.

What is in store?

Where will I be in ten years?

The decisions are all in

My hands.

Yet I feel a bit overwhelmed.

However, it is my life

So I will meet the challenges it provides

For me.

From kicking and creaming all day long,

I have two siblings,

One short, one tall.

We dislike each other

From Earth to Mars

Becasue I push them off the Monkey Bars.

Smoke, fire, burning,

Seeing the planes crash into those towers,

Feeling the ground shake under your feet,

Hearing the terrified screams as people realize what is happening,

Tasting the ash as it falls around you,

Not knowing what to do on that fateful day on September 11, 2001

Always remembering those that did not make it and tose that risked their lives to save everyone.

Love or Hate, There is no esacpe.  Theres hurt and heeling, its all hea  rd. And its just a feeling, made by word.  Slurs like a smack to the face over nothing but color and race.  Rich and poor will fight no more.  Young and old will soon mold into one being. And we'll all start seeing how great it is not to hate.

Looking at you used to be so easy

like breathing

But now your gone and where not together

So how am i surviving

with you being so depriving

of your time and love

so at night i lay down

and look at the stars above

Thinking of your soft touch

and strong mind

still making me want to cry

but its over

its over.

A thousand miles we live our live. Blinded by the speed. Out of control in cruise controll to warnings we never heed, we see the wrecks and the shells of lives that lived before, unaware the circumstance still pedals to the floor, what will it take for us to break, and stop and smell the rosses. our pride yearns on and then were gone, as if by strange hypnosis. this time faster then the last, how cant we ever see. the lives bunt up and wasted will soon be you and me. so heed my warning reader, my teaching they all hold true, or be the one departed, traveling  one thousand two.

Here we enter as freshmen,

freshmeat and then we are seniors,

and now we are getting to graduate.

The time just flys by and nothing can slow it down.

We can just keep up, and then just close your eyes

and there you find that you can make time stand still long enough for you

to take it all in.  Then you open up and everything is fast paced once again.

How can I say this poem was amazing with truth that stung just alittle

Once a old man was asked by a child.
Why should a education matter to me?
Tell me what is the definition of an education.
Why is it so important?

This poem was very powerful, I love the rhyming and the fluidity of the poem.

One tear breaks free, sliding down my cheek,

Building an ocean that surrounds me.

One star glows bright,

As one star shoots down,

This one shot turns my whole world upside down.

I live and I learn, making wrong turns,

Only to bring me back to your open arms.

I smile, I cry, we live and we die Just to continue on to our sacred realm.

The moon it comes out, the wolfs begin to howl,

Returning the magical feelings we aroused.

The sun comes up, overwhelming the darkness, as my prince turns into a toad.

I live and I learn, making wrong turns,

Only to bring me back to your open arms.

I smile, I cry, we live and we die Just to continue on to our sacred realm.

One wrong move and you can loose everything at once,

But not to gamble at all is to loose hope.

Falling is better then sitting back watching the show

When you’re a natural performer.

I live and I learn, making wrong turns,

Only to bring me back to your open arms.

I smile, I cry, we live and we die Just to continue on to our sacred realm.

Love is kind,

When it leaves you it is sure to leave a mark

Breaking your heart with a nice reminder of the past.

It fills you with warmth in your life,

And even when it leaves

This warmth can help you survive the longest winters.

We live and we learn, making wrong turns,

Only to bring me back to your open arms.

I smile, I cry, we live and we die only until that one day you never returned.

Joshua Becenti

I am just average

Nothing more and nothing less

I stand out somehow

Quiet as a mouse

So silent for a moment

Keep it to myself

Treat everyone fair

Choose no favorites or dislike

People need a chance

Prepared what’s ahead

Not looking back for a sec

Ready for my life

Seeking a degree

Wanting an education

To succeed in life

Are we all equal?

Teacher, what’s with the Favorites?

Do we fit your needs?

Teacher, please help me

Don’t act like I am not there

I feel shame here

Why do I come here?

Working there is so hostile

A fight would break out

SIGHT: unrelenting and unforgiving events which flash behind the deep set browns of her eyes.SMELL of salt seeping down the creases around the crescent of her smile, of desperation, undetermined unreturned and never changing love.TASTE the pain, whaling up in the pit of her stomach only to be swallowed and dissolved through the acidity of mercy.TOUCH: an attempt to drown in the emptiness in his soul where she should have been cradled by his warmth.SIGHT of a gathering frozen in time where laughter overflowed and animosity permeated the surrounding walls.SMELL the expiration of time assimilated in the overwhelming odor of the sea.TASTE of the flesh but the sapid of the spirit.TOUCH: if only she could touch the hem of his garment. SIGHT: of an invisible imprint in the wall of a young woman defenseless, broken and raw.SMELL the sweat accumulating in the same sheets that collect her feelings of self-hatred, longing, and depression.TASTE nothing the same feeling she assumes you see when you look into her eyes.TOUCH: to run your fingers across her scars that have been opened and closed, opened and closed countless times only to be described by the apostle Paul the one to touch the Messiah’s scares.SMELL: of peace.TASTE the sweetness of his grace.TOUCH the indents in her knees created by the omnipotence of prayer. SIGHT of an unrecognizable portrait reflected in the glow of her soul. SOUND of the earth shifting beneath my feet as I carve a path of acceptance, healing and change into the dirt made muddy by years of sorrow.

Expectations of Two

My mother lived

In a house of four

Beaten to perfection

And no flaws

Rising from the slums

Staying hungry to save money

She moved to the U.S.

To get a decent job

My dad reaps what he sows

To possess what he owns

Wise and independent

Since the age of fifteen

Strong and jagged hands

With his persistent nature

He moved to the U.S.

Pushing carburetors

Mom and Dad conceived me

In a house of only three

Appraised by many

For outside personality

Mother, I'm sorry

With six A's and one B

But I've thought you better

With a smack to the face

Red cheek and growing anger

I'm left dumbfounded

With a burning sting

Father, I'm sorry

Just football, no track

Boy, don't you talk back

Two is better, not one

With a swift belt on my back

And a pulsing headache

Only to be reminded

That I'm not average

I understand now

Mother, Father

Twenty years later

230 pounds, 6'4

Scholarships to UF, football star

It's all behind me

Now I'm behind a desk

Of my own company

With a face-splitting grin

To the Victor goes the Spoils

Since day one sitting in class, I used raise my hand and ask the teachers questions and all the students would laugh. At me not with me, I felt ashamed and like everyone was against me. Grades not right, mind not right,I felt like going towards violence and starting fights. But something stopped me and help me hold on, I think it was my drive, I think it was a song. Keep fighting, Keep fighting that's all I heard. Until your brain is filled with knowledge and big words. Keep fighting for your life, because going down without a fight is just not right. Fight for knowledge and education because that will give you some separation and distinguish you from other people. Fight, Fight, do not let them stop you because what you do right now is the key to your future, your family, dreams. Fight for your education because it right.Don't let down your guard and keep those educators insight. (I feel that I have the drive for education no matter what my circumstance are.)

The Road

She walks a familiar path, but it's no longer familiar to her.

She's lost.

She's just walking away from everyhing; not caring were she ends up.

All the memories fading behing her with each step she takes

Cars drive by not even stopping to see why or where she was walking.

She's small without anything but the clothes on her back,

The cool night air chilling her face,

The hard, black gravel under her toes,

Pebbles sticking to the bottom of her feet.

The road is silent except for the cars rushing past and as each car passes,

A memory fades , slowly erasing the pain from the past

She will never look back to those haunting memories

This road will lead to a new life, a new future

So she will never have to look back upon those haunting memories

Everyday she walks down this road, escaping from her life

Hoping that one day someone will stop and take her away

To a better life filled with happiness

Instead of the horrible life she has lived filled with pain

I thought this poem to be very entertaining. Not only did it give a sense of brotherhood in the most common way, but it gave an insight of how brotherhood works and an idae of what it means to be a brother of be in a brotherhood with someone

What does it mean?

Being a teen?

We are not children,

Not adults.

In-betweeners.

We struggle with acceptance, those around us

Their silence, their words

One is to chill, the other burns

Others are more kind

They bring warmth and light to our lives

Help.

Joy.

Love.

And outside of us, the world is dark,

Murky,

Foggy.

We light our own paths

Find our own way

Following the twists and turns of life's roads

Sometimes with a friend

Or a family member

Brought together by tragedy

Or better yet joy!

We go about lighting our own paths

In this dark and confusing world,

Full of thunder in the distance

That rumbles the ground beneath our feet.

Sometimes we trip,

Feel soil, or sand, or rocks beneath our hands.

But we get up.

What does it mean to be a teen?

It is all about going.

Getting there.

It doesn't matter where,

As long as you get there.

To live is something you do everyday.

I thank God for giving me a another day to live.

There is so many things out there to live for.

You will always have problems, but all you have to do,

is believe and keep trying to leave that behind.

I have so many problems, I'm really stressed, life isn't that great for me,

but I know someday all of this will end. I believe in myself.

arizza_brianna

It was November of 2011 my parents got divorced.

This was one of the worst days of my life.

This curshed me, it ripped my heart into many pieces.

I became depressed because of this.

Days, Months, Years passed it still hurts me.

I know there is not a thing i can do about it.

I need to leave that behind.

I love them dearly, I would do anything possible to have them together.

I am miles away from my dad.

This crushes me even more.

He means so much to me.

He's always been there for me.

He's that mother/father figure for me.

That means so much for me.

I love him so much.

I will always be daddy's little girl.

I will always be thankful for him.

I will always be thankful for having him as my dad.

He does so much for me and my brother.

I wish he lived here closer to me.

He sadly won't be able to be there at my graduation in May.

But I'll be so proud of myself for recieiving my diploma.

Handing him my high school diploma, I'll see those tears of joy.

By then, I'll see how strong I really am.

Showing him and other that I can overcome obstacles by myself.

By having those supportive people in life helping little by little to achieve my goals in life.

one is by showing it with actions

How Extraordinary

Look around and you will see,

All the beauty He created.

The earth, His canvas on which He paints,

 A picture beyond human comprehension.

His Spirit flows as a gentle breeze,

Embracing you with unconditional love.

Guilding each of your steps along life's path.

Gracefully leading you to finding Him.

Beautiful melodies play throughout the earth,

Orchestrated by the great conductor.

Your heart is filled with joy and peace,

As you listen to the marvelous sounds from His instruments.

Every wound and scar upon your heart,

Is healed and remarkably removed.

As you are molded and shaped upon His potter's wheel,

His perfection is developed in you.

The curtain opens and you are in awe,

As He unveils His promises to you.

He forgives your sins and gives eternal life,

How extraordinary is He who makes you brand new.

Once you loved can you ever love anyone else again?

I'm not afraid to cry

Every once in a while even though its been a long time coming

With you gone still upsets me

Its okay to cry

Can you ever love someone else again?

What hurts the most

Was being so close

And having so much to say

And watching you walk away

Pasting you and acting like complete strangers

Can you ever love someone else again?

How is it only children can see him?

Is it that he can only be seen when it is clean underneath

But if that is true than why can’t parents see him

What is it about childhood that makes it so scary?

Is it not that childhood is meant to be the happy times of life?

Monster under the bed why do you taint childhood?

And think of times we shared
Memories come flooding back
They all show how much you cared

Your kind and gentle nature
Your smile so big and wide
Thinking of these things
I know your always by my side

You've been a friend when times were hard
You've been a friend I can trust
In my heart you will always stay
Let God take care of you I must

Whenever I think of this friend

The evil and good both have minds of strength

Plans of success

Capabilities of far reaching effect

How do they differ?

Education

Diligence

Charisma

and zest

Hallmark the lives of histories' best

How do they differ?

The works of the good are as a city park

Open and pleasing they gladden the heart

The deeds of the dreary are narrow and trim

As the cleft of a mountain no light enters in

Cold and dank they weary the soul

'till shriveled and anxious is all they know

A good church is relevant, exciting, authentic and loving.

If you attend a good church you can identify the spirit of Christ.

A good church transforms minds and changes lives through the teaching of Gods Word

If you attend a good church the members love one another.

A good church has your best interest in mind.

If you attend a good church your kingdom assignment awaits you.

Often times people are turned off by the church because the body of Christ doesn't

represent Him well.

If you attend a good church it makes an impact upon the community around it.

I love my church because it bears the fruit of a good place of worship.

The brothers of liberty unsucssful in their attempt to relinquish the tyrants and all whom they have kept

The brothers of liberty now hang from a gallows pole, our democery has and will be bought and sold.

Brings the Pain

Leaving

In Night,

Comes the Fright.

This is the Place we left behind.

Sharing our thoughts, pain and endless times.

This is place

we left to die.

Grey like Graves, leaves the light,

without fright,

without might.

This is the place we left behind.

gone, and grey.

Born and pray.

 Disarray.

Gone like grey

Thou art so hateful when I first met thee,

Time let thee become perfect in my mind,

Thou held my hand, kissed me, and I loved thee,

All turned out freedom when thou walked behind.

Missing as sin, flying through the free fall,

All reminded me of thee all along,

Thankful for turning back and made it all,

Knowing that love could be ever that strong.

Soon, we will get rid of distance and time,

Closing enough to hear thy heart beating,

Thou art the reason for my silly smile

Because thou belong with me, my darling.

So long as thou art by my left hand side,

So long thou mean to me, thou art my pride.

Until the white men came to take away their courage, pride, and home …

Making them walk more than 400 miles to unknown land …

They were heartbroken and in pain at Bosque Redondo ….

The many dreadful years came to an end ...

The Navajos went home …

I was born in an exciting city

It’s number two when it comes down to fashion.

So many different combos of colors

There seems to be no rules of what to wear.

I was always told to be myself.

I was always told to look different.

When I wear what I want that make people judge,

But makes me happy.

I love fashion and everything about it.

There are endless sneakers to choose.

So many different shoestrings, casual and exotic

            Mismatched and stripped

I wish I could buy out a whole store.

I wish I could buy out the whole shopping mall.

I know hard work can give me all the clothes I want.

Things like bills and family are way more important,

So those snapback hats are going to have to wait.

I stay dreaming about the red carpet.

Maybe I can be on it one day

And get the interview about what I have on.

If that were to happen I wouldn’t tell.

I would hate to see some else wearing what I have.

So I would also keep secrets.

I know people would be upset.

Fashion is one of my true loves.

A lot of people say they fly, when they aint never flew,

I'm trynna get out of the old, and get in somethin' new,

My life got a few bolts, but it's missin' a screw,

Stabilization rules the nation,

Man I know without patience, there is no payment,

I want my life to be adjacent, to those that are mason,

I'll neva' stop, because everyday I am racin',

Will my nightmares overpower my dreams?,

Or will I rise to top by any means,

I only hope that in the end I live like a king,

Cuz' when you start from the bottom the top is everything,

Power to the people is what they say
power to the majority that is minority
Our society is build on social class
and order.why is it that the poor become poorer
and poorer.while the rich become richer and richer.
Change is what we need
but is afriad to be done
while the upper class enjoys life
the lower and middle class has
more work to be done
its ashame we live in a society
that has so many uneducated
individuals that are minority
why is it that it took us
43 presidents later
to have black man
in authority.
Democracy meaning
power to the people
is giving us the rights
that all men and woman
are equal
so whats wrong with society
why is that we need social class order
why cant we be all eqaul
and for once have a
hispanic woman in the oval office
to show young woman out there
that anything could happen
with a dream and ambition.
so tell me is this society do you
want to live in?
