Poetry is an open letter that I never mean to send.
Poetry is the escape that keeps my family from its end.
It keeps my anger from building into a skyscraper,
and it keeps my heart from bleeding on my sleeve.
Poetry is the breath and depth of expressions told,
the movement of how your heart and body flows,
the projection of your voice, the love and lifting of your soul.
The releasing of rivers,
The screaming of light bulbs,
Picking up scraps and bodies,
Being washed over by waves and rivers,
Invigorating air and pressing needles,
And never, never,
