fidelity

So there you go
You finally got your wings
You’re as free as a pigeon in a parking lot
Blue-grey
with just a hint of shimmer
Fluttering aloft for only moments
Before settling back onto the pavement
A fully blooming heart, you’ll see,
Is what I call fidelity.
The vine of love that’s ever near
Connects the hearts if they’re sincere.
And with the truest love that’s there
Fidelity
A leash on a wild dog
A contract we both signed but never read
A bubble we trap ourselves in
A rope keeping us on the best path as we sail
I forget everything
You say to me
All because I know
It means nothing
Absolutely nothing
All because you
Habitually tell me lies
I fail to believe you
Because of your stories
