We may say libraries are disappearingBut they will always be with usThey have been regineeringUsing them is a must
When I was a child I wanted to be so famous that I would be able to touch the star.
Trust me if I could meet him again I would ask what makes him dream so far?
They say they help us to acheive,
This is what they make us believe.
But, can't you see the darkness creeping down the hall,
As they take the last bit of innocence left for us, as they take our confidence to stand tall.
Should looks be the only master piece that reflects our soul?
Is it so hard not to judge people by the inside, but the outside?
Why is it that people think that looks reflect what we are?
Should looks be the only master piece that reflects our soul?
Is it so hard not to judge people by the inside, but the outside?
Why is it that people think that looks reflect what we are?
They look at the two differently
Judging, favoring
The first, they feel, deserves a ten
He was strong, persuasive, and smooth
The second, they discuss, deserves a six
She was bossy, pushy, and vain
Can we take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
It's not all black and white but a mixture,
of black and whites and Asians and Latino. Straight or not, we act like we know.
Education has become a joke
Kids are falling behind
because no child left behind is blowing smoke...
Up in flames, Burning!
I wish that was the smell of brains working.
Claiming that you know
All lives are not the same
Going to school with different purposes as well
Learning is different, and harder for some
But we slowly start to see
Education isn't always the key
Teachers can be great,
however, they can also be foul,
some kids can start to feel like bait.
Teachers can smile or they can scowl,
but they are there to "help" us.
They can whisper or they can howl.
What I would Say,
If I could say
would be daring
and bold
and new
and maybe a little bit different too.
I would say how you have gotten rid of the best
the cream of the crop.
"You can pick your groups,"
you say
like it's a treat.
And they lunge at each other
and stick together
like sugar
so sweet.
"Can we be a group of four?"
The name calling.
The pointing.
The laughing.
It's a burden I quietly bear.
I see it happen to other students
Every.
Single.
Day.
You're fat,
You're ugly,
How can I succeed
Or Believe
Or Achieve
When oppression plagues me ?
Under wraps is the violence-
Beneath shadows they hide it :
Sit and listen
What do you hear?
Words melding together that make no sense to you?
Lectures on subjects that are confusing and boring?
Why aren't you learning
You just don't get it
I see something you can't see
it's not seen through eyes blinded with ingorance
it's not noticed by the type who cause others pain
it's not realized from who reconize external beauty
The teacher blames it on the kid,
The kid blames it on the home,
The home is composed of the parents,
And the parents blame it on the system,
The system blames it on society,
Keep the beats going through these halls.
Or watch the silence take the last bit of thrill.
An art form no less than the pictures on these walls.
So it’s the dreams of artists you want to kill?
Peering into Orion’s Belt, here I am,
little old me,
staring into the eternity of darkness.
Constellations and the unknown wait to be solved,
by the knowledge of our world and the skies above us.
