I was told to be a man,
"You cry way to much."
"You're acting like a girl."
"Other boys wouldn't."
This and so much more,
It hurt, years on end.
And it took some time,
But soon I realized,
Everytime I see the doctor,
I pretend to be who they want me to,
Or who they think I am.
For I know if I tell them,
They'd invalidate me instead:
"You are female."
"Forget about it."
