Some days I wonder what my life would be like
If I opened the door here
And closed another there
Some days I wonder how the match didn't strike
Yet if I wonder enough
Can I see a new me?
Learn to own your own.
If you mess up, you must say sorry
don't blame it on this or that
You claim to be lone
subject to popularity and favor
but you are the one who wears that mask
Growing up is getting old
with heartache and storms
Going through these years
in most ways i've become cold
Once numb to sensations
my walls built so high
Now I feel everything
Sometimes I look to the future
and I see the me I hope to be.
Lately as I peek I see you
because I want you to be so much,
and I know you will be.
Not for me,
or for the next girl,
