tell me I was a fool
and yet tell me I was true,
don't tell me I knew.
all along there was nothing
holding us together but the strength of my desperate clinging, clinging
clinging
We weren't meant to be.
I knew that from the beginning.
It felt wrong from the start.
But I made it worse for both of us,
by holding onto something I knew wasn't there.
