Make sure all these hours are worth it
Don’t cure it
Exploit what has been given
Today in school, the same as yesterday,
and the day before, and the day before the day before,
Come in all humdrum and tired,
not even slapped awake by the slippy sippy slurp of black mustard coffee on the way to work,
Shatter the crown
Scatter the pieces
In this world we live in,
Strength is a weakness
Preach, "Chase for your dreams!"
But then curse ambition
Being equal in failure
Fake moments lead to real feelings
But can we separate the two?
Why kid ourselves
when we've got careers to do.
Are my efforts even worth a dime?
Or has this been a waste of time?
We, in unison, wrote the rules and laws
Happy and anxious we as we scribbled every clause
