Hidden in the shadows,
A servant to the King
Waited for the magic
His Highness said the night would bring.
“Twelve princesses,” he’d told his mage,
“Come dance for me at ten,
Twelve dancing princesses twirl ‘round the hall
Laughing with glee as at last they shed all
The burdens of holding a state on their shoulders
The pipes played as the piano sang along its keys, while twelve ladies danced,
