I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
I can’t believe
I’m still alive,
Because
The things I’ve seen
Are so horrific,
And I don’t know
How I’ve made it this far
Without dying,
So...
Listen to him
As he chirps
And tweets
In a wailing call,
Begging for something
Other than loneliness;
Listen to him
As he flitters
And...
Welcome to the monstrous world,
Where all dark goes to light up the sky,
Where you don’t think
Or have a brain at all,
A zombied species;...
I thought the night was finally over,
But it was only just the beginning
Of my misery;
I wake up each day,
And wish to sleep again.
Is it possible
To not feel this way anymore,
To be lifted from this despairing pit?
Could it be?
Could it be true?
Could I finally be okay...
