Poems from reissen
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But words will never hurt me!
Words, how devious, how fickle.
Two-faced friends, terrifying...
Not all men, they said,
are lurking beasts in the dark,
prowling for the next kill,
the next taste of blood and tears.
And it is true...
You've always wanted wings.
You'd point up at the sky with a smile,
Squinting because the sun was too bright,
Then turn to me with...
They twist the key on my back
To get me up in the mornings.
Creaking joints,
Click, click-
So I blink.
Click.
Clockwork machine...
