Poems from cannellelis
The thick white
The sky has no light
The smell of soil
And weeds
And my barefeet,
Let me breathe.
This sundress
Is too thin to cover me....
I’m like a minnow against the whim of the sea
I can’t let my heart get thirsty
Or it’ll make a slave of me.
I wake up musing
Still shadowed...
And there I was
In your bed
Thinking about being young
And what I would’ve said.
It isn’t simple.
I get terrified,
Then stormless...
That night
The earth smelled so rich
And inside I ached.
Loneliness,
Even though so many people
Were laughing.
I was grasping night air...
