Poems from Lindsey Calvert
I lived in the Spanish mountains for sixteen years where I was first inspired to write songs and poetry.
Velvet thorned creature
in your party clothes fine
Capering gaily
drunk on mulled wine
O puss you are merry
O puss you are bold
You miaow...
A small honeybe
is caught
in the spiders web
She tastes the nectar
Like a drop of milk
on a black cats whisker
The moon is lost
in the endless night
She follows paths
invisible
and longs
to see the light...
Blue mountain
Summer dreams
have led me to
your summit
I can breathe here
I am alone
I am at one
with your soft mists
and rugged trails
...
Summer heat within
Hot coals igniting
I see you touch
her hand
You know I'm watching
You want me to let go
For I am burning
For you are...
