I live in Mobile, Alabama. Growing up in such a culturally rich city has driven my imagination and love for fantasy. I am about to make a huge transition in my life as I am transferring to a large university after completing my associates degree at a small community college. I have always loved writing and expressing myself through words, but I must admit poetry is not my strong suit; I am much better at short stories.
I startle awake in pitch dark,
the dogs oustide bark.
I hear faint purring
and soft stirring.
