Poems from Ælfhild Wiklund
The oceans turn to acid
And the corals die
The shellfish larvae dissolve
Into scattered molecules,
The Arctic is warming
And the sea ice...
What hides in the internet
Tangling code
Sending error messages
Down pixelated roads,
What haunts the ethernet
Bogging down speed
Gobbling...
I fling my hair over my face
To block out the world
And watch it slide slowly away
As the inexorable march of time
Unveils me once more.
Cold of glaciers chill my bones
Sweeping down from mountains
Icy streams and cool winds
Stealing heat from stifling days
Pulling me back...
From the narrowest sliver of space
Caught between roof and tree
The moon is shining brightly
Through my window to me,
So bright, so fair,...
