Your Strength

Mother, with your witty ways
You alone have taught me to be stronger
Then anyone would let me proclaim
Mother, in your own days
You worked so hard for our survival
To provide for me day after day
Mother, with your smothering ways
You pushed me to my limit and over the edge
So I could push myself further instead
Mother, with your dark loving eyes
Look at me as your prodigy
And love me all the time
Mother, in your own ways
Found a way to your own success
Reassuring me it was all for the best
Mother, as we moved away
You said that this was for the better
And that things would be better
Mother, how I love you so
For showing me all the ropes
Though life may run a muck and send me spiraling
Mother, with your hard hands,
With your iron fist
Mother, with your desirable wit
Have taught me to always be a lady though all of it
