Your Brand of Silence

I see you have just come home oh that’s nice

I would ask you how your week end was but

We aren’t talking…

We are separate, on a different wave length, on two different levels

So excuse me when I have to leave the room

This silence is deafening….

I ask if we can talk, I wanted to apologize

Our eye don’t met for this arrangement

You make the effort as to not see me

I look right in your eye to see you

No words were exchanged that day

They didn’t need to be…..

But I almost wish they had been aired

Even now the fact we live in the same room

Is making it very hard to live

The look you threw at me was one of disgust

I twinge at such a look and

The grotesque contempt in your voice was

A dagger to my heart......

We use to talk about our days as students

You remind me of the reasons why I left my home in the first place

What has this come too my friend

You are still my friend, please give me another chance

I am an emotional person too just as you are

You may not think you are but I can read

Every feeling of angst on your face

We flinch at each other’s presence

Our poor middle can do nothing but drown in such atmosphere

If not for you and me than for her…….
