You Will Always Be Caught If You Stop Running

The Jersey devil still lurks today

Except not in that same old way

When the mother of 13 birthed a devil

She never thought that we would revel

In the shadows of girls walking home alone

He no longer shows his horns and hooves

He keeps them hidden behind smiles and swoons

The Jersey girls know his tricks

He’s losing his power and it’s going quick

Kind eyes and charismatic smiles fool us no more

We have learned how to beat the devil in this war

We will teach our daughters his tricks just in case

That Jersey devil gets a new face
