You Only Write Once

Standing on a stage
Waiting for the light
The show's about to start
The butterflies take flight

The curtain rises
The lights illuminate the scene
I'm no longer myself
But rather someone within a dream

If only all could feel this rush
Even one child with a special need
But he could never have that chance
He could never play the lead

But what if he could act?
What if he had his chance to shine?
This is a project I could start
A project that would be mine

College is surely needed
How else will this dream come true?
I can not let this fail
I must work hard for this school
Raising money would take many months
Except for one chance, you only write once.
