To You, Angelou.

Sat, 08/01/2015 - 23:25 -- Sohalia
I will write you down in history,
With my genial, heart-felt cries.
Engrave your name in all its glory.
Then, like an angel, you’ll rise.

For only you could find the right way,
To say what we should have known.
Who else but you could justly convey,
That no one can be Alone.

No, your sassiness won’t upset me.
Of course I’m beset with gloom,
Because thanks to you, I can now see,
Why the Caged Bird Sings its tune.

I will lift you with my words,
Embrace your great works with my eyes.
Hear your voice within the bird’s
Cries, and from the heavens, you will rise.

I know you’ll rise, beyond the skies.
Effortlessly, like a leaf,
Dancing in a zephyr as it sighs,
Rising higher beyond belief.

Past the heavens and beyond all space,
With all the grace of a star.
Without a doubt you will find your place,
Then from there, we can say, au revoir.
