You and Me

No one understands why I love you.

So, allow me to put it into words.

You were the air I breathed,

The blood that ran through my veins,

The water in my cup.

No one understands,

You were my everything.

Now I choke on the polluted air,

The blood now boils and screams to be released.

The waters have grown muddy,

We blame each other

When we both know the truth,

We are both to blame,

Don’t you see?

We were fools.

Fools to think it was love,

Fools to try and forge a future,

We are a pair of fools,

You and me.

So, why did I ever think we were meant to be?
