Like You and Me

Like the time between night and day,

with many shades of pink and orange.

Love has many colors,

some bright, some soft.

It only comes as glimpses of time,

that seem to last forever.

Like bright red roses in bloom,

with its inviting smell and look.

Love has an allure,

that stops breaths.

It is inviting and soft,

but hurts to hold for more than a second.

Like fire burning bright,

it gives comfort and warmth.

Love has to be kindled,

so it will not die out.

It can not be held,

yet hurts to touch.

Like a strong oak tree,

with it’s many branches.

Love has many forms,

all constant and true.

It seems to be strong,

until the axe cuts it down.

Like you and me,

and our burning passion.

Love is bright,

lighting the darkest soul.

It was beautiful and fragile.

We broke it anyways.
