YOU

YOU

You defined love

And showed me what it was like to be loved

The way you looked me in the eye

The way you held my hand when we took walks in the park

The way you wiped my tears and told me everything was going to be alright

You had love flowing right out of your fingertips

You had passion in those blue eyes I drowned in again and again

All those promises you made

Promises of a forever love

Promises that you would never leave me

What happened to them?

Were those just empty words?

I may have been a backup plan, a substitute you used to pass time

But you were my everything

And now,

You're just the one who left my heart in a million pieces

You left and you took a piece of me along

You're just a beautiful memory wrapped in a tragic nightmare that I keep reliving every single day of my life

till my eyes are red with tears and my heart aches from the hell you put it through

All I ever wanted was to be loved by someone who understands

Now you've left me engulfed in the flames of our love that once was.
