W.W.Y.D.?

If the hardships of life

Pushed me to the edge of a cliff,

And the weight of the world on my shoulders

Caused the ground under me to collapse,

Would you extend your hand to catch me before I dropped?

If you couldn’t catch me before I dropped,

And I submerged into the ocean below,

Barely missing the rocks and the hard places,

Would you dive in and swim to my rescue before I drowned?

If you couldn’t swim to my rescue,

And I washed up on the shore of hopelessness,

Would you lock your lips with mine,

Breathing the breath of life into a lost cause?

If you knew you wouldn’t be strong enough to pull me back up if you caught me

If you knew you wouldn’t be fast enough to swim me to safety

If you knew it was too late to save my life,

Would you try?
