Worldy Ashes

I watched as the ashes floated down

Like the blackened snowflakes of despair they were.

They would dance in the gravity,

In the oceans of emptiness,

Settling in a scary haze.

Just as one fell, another surely followed.

Born from the joyful minds of others,

And the catatonic ways of their lives.

Slowly and painfully,

Each flake would dissolve into the ground

Then paint the Earth in a mundane grey.

Yet the sky stayed blue,

As if to nullify the pain.

Though I’ve dreamt of colorful worlds

Of lands filled with vitality.

The one which I lived in is

Equally as refreshing.

Though bleak and depressing,

It wills me to move foreword,

In search for those colorful grounds,

Upon which I wish to tread.

To breathe in the variety

And taste the changing airs.
