A World Changing Selfie

Location

My dad calls them "selfish-ies" and rightly so

Who am I taking selfies for? Myself?  Don't I know?

With brightness and contrast and exposure to adjust

What is the point of all the useless fuss?

Behind the lens lies a girl to the world, quite unknown

Full of passion, intelligence, and drive to learn and grow

A girl who dreams of inspiring others and making an impact on the world

But how can that be unfurled from one single photo?

I have to burst free from the trend and create where I want to go

Because that photo is more than fixed up hair and good lighting

There lies a girl who, until she knows she's helped make change, won't go down without fighting.

It's funny how we see and we judge, assumingly so

Little did you know, the girl in that selfie will change the world before you can even press "like".
