A World Against Us

A city that bleeds out our tomorrow

The beauty in good some will never see

I knock on joy’s door and ask to borough

Borough the ability to be free

Pain and defeat bar my mind out of fear

But a glimpse of light keeps me off my Knees

To rise above some would not ever dare

Swallowed by darkness and the word you can’t

I felt the same pain but I hid my tears

Never a product of the environment
