1 Corinthians 14:1-2 

Prophecy and Tongues

14 Pursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

 2 For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit

 

Spiritual gifts flow from the Holy Spirit ... the nature of these gifts is defined.

Prophecy, tongues and other manifestations have an order in God’s kingdom.

“The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets” that cannot be denied.

God expects the power of self-control ... in our life to be exposed and learned from.

 

This is spiritual power from God ... for a man to have free choice.

The working of the Holy Spirit wants a man to be free.

Any spirit that wants the prophet in blindness to follow

is a spirit from satan ... who wants to enslave indeed.

 

Acceptance of truth about yourself ... should be agreed too

 It is relatively easy and is the first step towards Salvation.

But when it blasts man’s ego ... it becomes a different story.

and with the flesh’s insistence ... it leads to great frustration.

 

1 John 4:1 

Testing the Spirits

4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

 

 “Test the spirits” ... Who they are and where they originate.

One thing for sure with some ... they can’t accept Jesus Christ.

If they can’t accept Him as the Son of God ... the call of God’s destination,

they are false and so marked ... followers of the prince of lies.

 

First admittance to the Truth ... is to understand,

that we are subject to deception and duplicity.

We are easily beguiled and doubt past experience

and even doubt our God in our spiritual "senility".

 

Never doubt God ... His Spirit and His Word.

 

Inquire of God, why you were beguiled? He’ll show the answer.

He will lead you by the hand ... to where you need to be.

Maybe in the span of it ... you want to lead Him where you’re going.

Even with all the good intentions ...  not a place you ought to be.

 

Test the spirits, find out quickly know the place where you reside.

For if you don’t know where you are ... where then are directions?

You’ll ask advice around you from people in the same shape

and as you listen closely ... you will become their reflection.

 

Acceptance of a counterfeit ... because of the passivity of the will

will surely get us to the place ... that is dessert bound.

You’re alone with self ... as God you left behind,

struggling and drying out ... seldom to be found?

 

In that condition of despair, you will get flashing thoughts,

provided by the enemy ... who helps to blame all, but self.

He’ll show you the mirage ... of what you want to see,

as he tells you to keep going on ... as he hides the “living” hell.

 

Passivity is the foundation ... of the stronghold of the devil.

It allows our mind and body ... to sink in a coma-like state.

You cease to exercise ... conscious control over your mind.

You just slog off mentally as your mind turns blank as a slate.

 

You inactivate the will that way and its proper functions.

Conscience and memory are things of the past.

Luckily there are degrees in this degradation,

but only when you know this you can recover a lost part.

 

Evil will surely try at will maintain the territory you surrendered.

Spirits of darkness know for sure how easy it is to remain passive.

Painstaking is the way to freedom and it takes the total man.

Your will needs activation ... it is mandatory to fight that massive.

 

Leaning on the everlasting arms ... is leaning on God’s will.

To resist the devil ... is a major part of it.

To exercise your will with the will of other saints

and to so be united with Christ, Who is all of it.

 

Set to a definite direction ... enlightened by the Truth.

Encouraged by the Spirit ... determined to be free.

Regain what once was lost ... to be your own master,

so you can offer who you are to the King in every deed.

 

To oppose the power of God is related to man’s freedom.

For unless your will is free ... you are helpless indeed.

You cannot express the choices or refuse to be passive.

Your liberty becomes a memory as you are knocked off your feet.

 

Your "will" gives you insistence ... to oppose the whiles of the devil.

The armor of God you’ll put on only by the power of your decision.

To sever all relationships with the powers of darkness

takes your "will" in the hand of God and His Son’s intervention.

 

He is the “Captain of the Host” ... Who leads to the Promised Land.

Walls crumble before Him and strongholds tumble down.

Nothing in this world has power to oppose Him.

He wins every battle simply with Hands down.

 

“Where the heart is”, it is said ... that is where a man resides.

Wishing for the defeat of evil ... seems like a good start.

To want to use own talents for good should be a simple notion

and opposition to all lies and excuses should be centered in the heart.

 

On your way to freedom ... to desire what is right,

with reminders on billboards on the pathway that you travel.

“Love your neighbor as yourself” and “God above all other”

seems to set the pace of walk as we move closer to Christ’s level.

 

Resisting is more than saying I “ain’t gonna” do that again.

Resisting requires all strength from body, soul, and spirit.

To maintain force is in the will and called “wrestling in the spirit,”

to get your will inline with God’s and wonder how to bear it.

 

Resisting and choosing to contend ... to prohibit evil to work farther

to take a stand and hold your ground ... so new enemies can’t invade.

Refusing to give in to darkness with the help of Jesus, the Christ

you’ll immobilize all perpetrations as you move towards Heaven’s gate.

 

Mobilize God’s Power to reclaim what was lost.

Only He is strong enough to remove the enemy.

A mere declaration of intentions or desires wanted

is fully insufficient only God can perform that deed.

 

Working actively with God and being involved with purpose,

is what it takes for certain to get out of the grave.

God will surely help you in all your undertaking,

but He won’t do it all for you unless you help and stay.

 

Your "will" must be engaged as master of your decisions.

All talent to be made to function properly ... to your normal self.

Don’t be misled by victories ... which are only partial.

Remember Jacob’s ladder ... and the constant means of help.
