Wonders Fall

Location

Earth shakes and the wonders fall.

A crack of the spine brings down man’s greatest of all.

“Enough!” Mother says to the fly.

In her thundering voice she bellows “Your most magnificent is but a speck under my sky!”

She huffs and puffs and erodes marvels away.

All hail the queen of the Milky Way.

In the wind she whispers “no one is as breathtaking as me”.

Her flames dance as she sings “you only wish you could be this creative and free”.

But still, from her mountains, trees, fish and seas, to her deserts, cactus, humans and cities she loves us all.

Mother Earth shakes and the wonders fall.

She smiles from above and sternly declares “respect me and I will keep you protected and nourished in my bosom”.

She reassures, “not to worry, tomorrow the flowers will blossom”
