Witness ...

Genesis 2:7 New English Translation (NET Bible)

The Lord God formed the man from the soil of the ground

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Darwin’s puzzle

Witness

Me as a fish? Would I be a flounder fading into my environment

And to be resting there to make no difference?

As the unexpected pass me by often to their own detriment

Will I accept their sacrifice as a well-earned pittance?

Yet the values I set are most in mind. The heart I keep removed from that

Simply since its cause may upset my “tender” conscience

You must admit I’m a precious find in this world of bones and fat

Where I prove who I am with an "unrecognized" significance

I do not try to fake it. I am just an artificial flower

I look good in every picture but don’t need to be watered

I am the centerpiece almost like a midnight shower

To be seen afterward by my wife, my sons, and daughter
