A Window Not a Curtain

Location

I do not hide behind a curtain

I do not cower behind a thing

Instead I am a window

Everyone can see who I am

I am a window

I can be interpreted in several different ways

I am a window

What's on each side is what you see

I am a window

I am a window, covered in dust

I am a window, covered in dirt

Because I am afraid to share my views.

I don't want someone to change me

I want to be who I want to be

Just as man changed the world around him

I don't want him changing my views.

I am a window covered in dirt.

Everyone knows who I am

But no one sees me clearly.

You squint and see what I want you to see

Because I left the dirt of time.

Every now and then, I am clean.

There are a few who see my scenes.

But I am a window.

Please don't judge me on my dirt,

from behind your wollen curtain.
