A Will to Live

I can live without technology, cute clothes, or coffee,

I can live without chocolate, jewelry, or hot tea.

I can live without a husband, a child, or computer screen.

But take my bravery, my will to go on,

Take my happiness or the right to be wrong,

Take my necessity or ability to stay stong,

And you’ve taken my life and my strength, at best.

Because all I need is the heart in my chest,

And the courage to use it to live with the rest.
