Digging dirt from beneath my nails,
Digging dirt ditches,
Bringing up dirt in pails.
Dirt crusts me over.
My bright sweet shine,
Dirt,
It covers.

My eyes,
My hands,
My hair,
My thick.
I'm dirty, every inch.
Dirt is forever,
Dirt is endless.

Warm rains torrent downward
to hallowed ground.
Fleshy and wet,
I am
Wading through soft mud,
Hoping a diamond is found.

Turn off your search,
Forget that dirt.

You are clean.
Inside a humble heart,
Your light gleams.
You will not find your treasure on a computer screen.
Look within,
dark internet queen.
