why write?

Fri, 10/30/2015 - 14:15 -- kaara

write because you have something to say

write because the flow of ink is like a stream of never-ending thought,

write because it feels never feels wrong,

write because it feels like breathing,

write because the words cramped behind your tongue can’t bear to be cooped up any longer,

write because you feel something,

write because you want to feel something,

write because you need to feel everything,

write because you want to see the contents of your mind manifest themselves as spilled ink across the page,

write because you can,

write because you should,

write because the silence that fills a room is interrupted by the sound of your pen striking paper,

write it down so you can save it for later,

write out of need, because you need words to breathe,

write out of necessity,

write for longevity,

write with urgency,

write before you sleep and again when you’re awake,

write from the depths of your heart and from the pit of your soul,

write because you have idle hands,

write because you seek to understand,

write because you seek,

write in cursive,
write about what you know,

write about what you see,

write about what you think,

write because there’s always more to say,
keep writing when you feel you’ve said it all,

write because you believe in the power of your words and in the beauty of your thoughts,

write freely,

write your dreams,

write out your fantasies,

write your reality,

write anything

write and write and write

until you no longer have anything to hide,

write until you’re tired and then set down your pen, but only for a moment

write because you love it,

write as long as you live

write as if you will never get enough of it
