Why Must We Fight?

Tue, 03/21/2017 - 16:15 -- DaezyG

I see your greatness, your strength, your courage

I admire your lifestyle, your plight in reverence

I love your outer, inner, and spiritual beauty

Yet for some reason we don't click, something we both cannot see

"You're too radical!" I scream

"You're too conservative!" You scream back

We try to connect, to bridge

But nothing seems to stick or stay

Why must we fight this careless fight?

Why must we hold each other in contempt?

I'm tired of being a defendant to your prosecution

I want in on your world, in on your way of life

But we live in an existence of

Too this and Too that

Try this or you're whack

Say this or I hate you

Sedate me to your whims, and I will succumb

Save me from this fight, oh mirror image, dear brain of mine - this humdrum
